Turks & Caicos Travel Guide
Oh Turks & Caicos, one of my favorite islands of all the Carribeans. Remote enough to (likely) not see anyone I know…. and full of white sandy beaches paired with crystal-clear turquoise water, some of the most beautiful coral and incredible restaurants. Stay at a luxury beachside property, eat local cusine and go on a few adventures… this island does not disappoint. The island is home to the world’s third-largest barrier reef. An easy flight from NYC to Turks and Caicos… makes this island a must for all East Coasters. Perfect for a 3-4 day getaway.
To Stay.
Como Parrot Cay: For the most luxury experience, stay here. While I haven’t been to this property, I really hope to visit soon. COMO Parrot Cay is an award-winning luxury resort set on its own private island. With 1,000 unspoilt acres and mile-long beach, they deliver foot-in-the-sand luxury. All rooms, suites and beach villas have incredible interiors along with COMO’s service ethic, holistic therapies, yoga, diving and worldclass cuisine.
Amanyara: An Aman property…. need I say more? Known the the most stunning stretch of sand. Amanyara is only 25 minutes from the airport, but the drive to reach the resort evokes a sense of transformation; guests journey through several miles of nature preserve leading to an alluring white sand beach overlooking turquoise waters. Just off these shores, sea turtles swim along coral reefs.
The Palms: Just steps away from the white sands & sapphire waters of Grace Bay, with an infinity pool overlooking the ocean… this hotel is charming, dreamy and has an incredible restaurant.
The Shore Club: New, premier luxury resort with elegant suites and picturesque villas overlooking stunning ocean vistas. Most visitors to Turks & Caicos stay on the Grace Bay side of the island, but the Shore Club—the first hotel on Long Bay Beach on the island’s southeastern coast—is a game changer… especially for families. An indulgent spa, four pools, three restaurants, luxurious accommodations, and breathtaking views elevate the resort beyond paradise.
Grace Bay Club: A beautiful hotel and island staple. This very popular beachfront property is a must for families and couples alike. With three pools, villas and an incredible property full of cabanas/firepits… this hotel is a must.
Windsong: With a coveted setting on the pristine white sands of Grace Bay Beach, Windsong Resort is the only four-star property on Providenciales located directly on a snorkeling reef. Not as “fancy” as the other resorts, so if you book at the right time— you may be able to save some $ by staying here. I loved it… as I love just going to be go snorkeling :)
Wymara: Formerly the Ganesvoort, this property has views of the iconic Grace Bay Beach and welcomes guests into a dramatic open-air lobby leading directly out to a 7,000 square-foot infinity-edge pool. Whether looking for romantic getaway and a suite for two, or a family escape and villa for eight or ten, Wymara is a great setting.
To Eat.
Somewhere: Favorite restaurant on the entire island! Fresh and beyond delicious— Somewhere Café & Lounge offers guest chef-inspired Tex-Mex cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I am obsessed. No reservations needed. Do not miss this restaurant!!!!
Coco Bistro: Set amidst the largest palm grove on the island of, Coco Bistro has incredible food with a one-of-a-kind setting. The restaurant serves fresh local cuisine under a starlit sky and swaying coconut palms. Make sure you make a reservation here with ample time in advance. This is one of the more challenging restaurants to get a reservation at.
Infiniti Restaurant & Raw Bar: Located at the beautiful Grace Bay Club, this oceanfront restaurant has one of the best atmosphere’s of all Grace Bay. Go for a drink at their famous Infiniti bar before you sit down for an exquisite meal.
Parallel23: Located at The Palms, this restaurant is absolutely breathtaking and romantic. Arrive early, have a drink in their bar— and request to sit in the courtyard for dinner.

Boat Day… per usual. Is it a #FashionAmbitionistTravelGuide if there isn’t a boat day? I took a boat tour that made a stop at an incredible private island. During this same boat tour, I saw the most a ginormous whale. See next activity below…
Whale Watch: I was fortunate to visit Turks & Caicos during the annual migration. From January to March, 2,500-7,000 humpback whales make their way through the channel. Local boats can take you out to sea to be close to the action, but you can also stay ashore at Grand Turk or Salt Cay and still take in the sight.
Fish Fry: This is a MUST. Every Thursday from 5:30p to 9:30p at the Bight (Children’s) Park, over a dozen local food vendors, entertainers and cultural acts come together for Island Fish Fry to create an evening of all things Turks & Caicos.
Things to Note:
Most restaurants are open for dinner between 6-10PM. Don’t make our mistake your first night and wait till 9:30PM to eat
English is the official language
Turks & Caicos universally accepts the U.S. Dollar as the common currency
The Providenciales International Airport (PLS) welcomes all scheduled international flights to the Turks and Caicos, with arrivals from over two dozen cities across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and the Caribbean
